Young Adults Join SF Seniors in Petition Drive That Aligns Support for National Compassion Holiday
San Francisco, CA- Young Adults from Cornerstone Academy School will join Elderly residents from the University Mound Ladies Home on Saturday, Nov. 19 at 10:45 am to create message banners and write compelling letters to members of the U.S. Congress encouraging them to support the National Compassion Holiday. This community unification project between youth and Senior citizens will be held at the University Mound Ladies Home (located at 350 University Street in San Francisco, CA). It is open to the public and folks are encouraged to attend.
“Community-based activities such as this one, welcome youth from the economically-challenged Portola region and encourage them to join seniors in support of a worthy cause,” shared Michael Villalpando, Founder of the National Compassion Holiday initiative. “This collaborative event is designed to create a true sense of unity between youth and seniors, while also increasing awareness on the ongoing needs of the underserved- the elderly, individuals who are physically and developmentally-challenged as well as our Disabled Veterans. We hope to also draw attention to the importance of petition-signing for a National Compassion Holiday which will ultimately pay full respect to Seniors and individually with Disabilities.”
